strange behaviour in bibdesk

I occasionally run into a similar problem with regular tex typesetting (with biblatex + biber). I simply go to /var/folders/ etc.... to remove the cached folder indicated in the log (in my case a different cache). It gets rebuilt.

I suspect it has to do with non-unicode characters in my files, but this is only a guess.

In BibDesk preferences, make sure you're using pdflatex instead of pdftex.
